Budget & Transparency Reporting

Section 18 (2) of Public Act 94 of 1979, The State School Aid Act, has been amended, which requires each school district and intermediate school district to post certain information on its website within 30 days after a board adopts its annual operating budget or any subsequent revision to that budget. The Annual Budget and Transparency Reporting is an opportunity to communicate to our community how we utilize the resources that are provided to us.

We are required to post the following information on our website.

Our staff does not currently work under bargaining agreements.

Muskegon Maritime Academy did not pay association dues in 2022–2023.

There were no district paid lobbying costs for 2022–2023.

The District has not incurred a deficit.

The District does not hold any credit cards. 

Muskegon Maritime Academy did not pay out-of-state expenses in 2022–2023.

Muskegon Maritime Academy conducts the required number of drills according to state law. We conduct 5 fire drills with one conducted in the first ten days of school. We conduct 2 take cover drills, one in the fall and one in the spring. We conduct 3 lockdown drills with the assistance and cooperation from local law enforcement. We also have monthly playground equipment checks as required by Saginaw Valley University. Our kitchen is inspected by the Health Department. In the event of an actual lockdown or emergency, a notification message would be sent to parents.
